"The AOB Ballerz dropped their 3rd consecutive game of the season on Tuesday night, falling to 0-4 on the season. The loss puts them at dead last at the season's midway point.

The box score wasn't quite as ugly as previous games, but probably even harder to swallow given that the Ballerz were closing in on their first win before things slipped away.

Heading late into the 2nd half, the Ballerz had held the lead for the entire game, a first for their 2018 campaign. Defense and offense seemed to be clicking, but late in the second half the team seemed to lose focus as the opponent went on a quick run started by back-to-back 3s that seemed to bury the Ballerz spirit and chances at their first win.

While there was optimism in the locker room after the game, others expressed some frustration with some on-court drama that seemed to be the turning point in the game. Chang checked in and seemed to get in a verbal back-and-forth with the other team. Not long after, the Ballerz lost the lead and what seemed like any further momentum to carry them to victory.

As we heard from one source who asked to be anonymous, the first victory was in their hands until the newcomer made it a little too much about himself. As said by an inside source 'Honestly I was pretty surprised we were up at that point, it actually felt like we were going to win. Out of no where he (Chang) subs in and starts chirping to the other team, and then all the sudden the wheels fell off. I don't really know what he was so upset about, he was playing with a bum finger and couldn't throw the ball in the ocean. But ya, he starts talking shit, we blow the lead, and now we're 0-3. Just saying.'

It was true, Chang was playing with a splint on his left finger (he's left-handed), an injury that wasn't made apparent until game-time and had the front office questioning the recent signing before Tuesday's game.

The Ballerz were energized by the return of one of their star players, Chin, who'd just returned from his honeymoon on Bora Bora. The coaching staff wasn't sure what his condition would be in after two weeks of (what was expected to be) excessive eating and drinking. Upon his return though they seemed encouraged, saying he looked 'Good'. Chin certainly played well, contributing plenty on offense with an aggressive style of play.

Mahmood once again led the team in all scoresheet metrics, but unfortunately his herculean effort wasn't enough to make up for what the supporting cast lacked. Mahmood has frequently been supportive of his teammates, although having scored 90 of the teams points this season, it seems only a matter of time before frustration boils over. Perhaps we saw a glimpse of it Tuesday night - when asked by reporters after the game, Mahmood said he felt “sick” and alluded to the feeling of having a “rock in his stomach”. Fellow teammates blamed this on an actual physical ailment, saying the combination of Umami Burger for lunch and a late dinner were the root cause. Still, its hard to imagine the star scorer is not feeling a bit alone in his efforts.

Tensions seemed to die down from last weeks post-game events, where Jon ‘Yonkers' Yousef confronted Mahmood about his lack of ball sharing. Yousef blamed his frustration on his NYC upbringing, explaining ‘that’s just how we handle beef in Brooklyn, ‘nawmean?’ Yousef again did not see much action on Tuesday, but also did not actually step foot inside the 3-point line on offense. While his deep-range offense continues to struggle (still without a bucket on the season), the coaching staff wonders how they can corral this big man to play to his true potential.

Perhaps he seems influenced by fellow big man Young, or 'AK47' which has been trending as of late on social media. Like the AK47 automatic rifle, a widely inaccurate but deadly weapon, Young has at times been spectacular, hitting deep-range 3 balls and creating opportunities with spinning fade-aways in the paint. Other times though, Young finds himself at the top of the key wanting to control the offense, making it harder to benefit from the big man's ranging talents.
The rest of the team finds themselves searching for their place to contribute to the team's first victory. Loh's effort has been admirable, and fellow teammates seemed quite encouraged by the fact that he's not calling timeouts anymore for smoke breaks.

The rotating door between the Seeley/Song/Auger combination has yet to sort itself out. While each seems to offer seemingly different talent, they can't necessarily seem to find rhythm while they're out there. Seeley has struggled to return to form, to what he describes as a ‘Pistol Pete’ style of play. We’re yet to see shades of this ‘former athleticism’. Auger has relatively unknown potential and offering. Having only played the last two games, his contribution hasn’t necessarily caught much attention, but also hasn’t really shown to be a liability. When asked before the season, the front office indicated he would be a “project” this year. However with the season winding down and roster spots becoming competitive, its hard to know where he might fit in to contribute.

Perhaps the most improved of the bunch here is Song, who scored his first career basket last night. Song himself even looked surprised - at halftime, Song seemed to be confused by what defensive scheme the team was running. When asked if they were still in zone, there was obvious confusion by his teammates, who explained they had actually switched to man two games ago. It could explain the frequent “deer in headlights” behavior we see from Song’s defense.

As we were told by the coaching staff, they're really just waiting for someone to emerge and own the 5th (or 6th/7th) man. Song scored the first basket of the trio this season last night, giving him a significantly better resume than the rest of the threesome.

Yet still, the Ballerz head into week 5 with hope. Intern Wise couldn't get his GPS right last night and missed the game, so the Ballerz faithful remain optimistic that the team can still put it together over the next 4 weeks to make a charge into the post season"

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
