In recent days a family has been quarantined because their son caught a new airborne strain of Ebola. The city of New York fears that the parents and classmates of their son may have caught this strain of Ebola. They can't be for sure, because ebola has a 30 day incubation period, in which the person has no sign of any disease. The parents of the child can't go to work, the government gives them food every so often. The family follows the same rules as if they are on house arrest. When they sneeze they must make sure not to sneeze at anyone or an uninfected person to catch the disease, they will stay house arrest until further notice. The son is in a nearby stanford hospital. They put him in isolation 24 hours a day. He must sneeze into a cloth or he might infect something. The doctors there sanitize every part of the room everyday. The father has been quoted as saying, "How did ebola get to us?" He has a very good point, nobody had gone out of the country in the past 12 years. This has worried officials as there must be another person who carried ebola near the child. The only place someone would be close enough to the child to give him Ebola would be in school. Officials think that a fellow classmate had recently come in contact with Ebola. But this would be impossible since nobody went to Africa. Also nobody else has reported an Ebola case around the area. The mayor has put anybody near the child as high risk. This new strain of Ebola has never been reported, so some believe that this strain of ebola is from a small region where doctors and good sanitation are scarce. A group of researchers have gotten a strain of the Ebola from the child's mucus. The child currently is suffering with seizures caused by the ebola. He is currently getting better but not to the point where we could interview him. To even enter the room he is in you must be wearing a full body hazmat suit. Any open holes could get you infected. The family is currently okay but are suspected to having this new strain of Ebola. Currently any children or teachers who may have come in contact with the child can't go to school. Also before going out they must wear a mask as if to not give anyone else the disease. Mayor Bill de Blasio has told us that the school may be closed if no one who also has the same strain of Ebola in the next few days. If closed or someone with the same strain of ebola is found that went to the school, a full school decontamination will be in effect and anything the carrier might have sneezed or coughed on will the destroyed, as to not spread the disease further. Currently the classrooms the child visited are off limits to anyone without a full body biohazard suit. To bring any of our things in their might have got it contaminated. Officials say if anybody starts to throw up and has a high fever, and was possible near contact of the child, they will take this person immediately to an isolation room in the nearby stanford hospital. They say these are signs of Ebola and that this was most likely the person who spread the disease to the child. This does raise concern as it seems Ebola's mutation rate is far more than they expected. This could mean any vaccines or treatments for Ebola would have to be constantly updated, and may be why all vaccines and treatments have failed thus far. Scientist are thinking about make a treatment that weakens it, and make another treatment that finishes the disease off.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
