This fiery encounter saw the two most physical teams in the SEFC square off in what was a thrilling rivalry till the last seconds of the match.

Kent came into this looking to build on week ones triumph against Cambridge. The cats looked shaky and weak defensively against the aggressive exiles front. Kent answered all of those questions after proving yet again how physical and strong their offense has become since last season.

On the other side, the Hornets were also seeking a second successive win, looking to dismiss the talk of them being a ‘home’ team after losing every away game last season.

Both sides gave as good as they got, but it was the exiles who came out on top, winning thanks to a last minute touchdown by 17, Jacobi Bennett. The big receiver scored 3 much needed touchdowns in the second quarter to ensure the exiles stay top of the conference.

The Hornets were without star Quaterback Tom Hakes and shifty running back Deshawn Watts. Nevertheless the North London side gave the exiles a run for their money. If you thought Watts was a big boy at 6”3, then 73Jack Blunt was the big man. Standing at well over 6”6 he towered over his competition and constantly required the attention of 2 or 3+ defenders to bring him to the ground, freeing the running game massively for the Stingers.

All in all, a hugely entertaining game from two top class teams who now go on to face their lesser rivals, with the Hornets travelling to Cambridge, and Kent welcoming the Cats.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
