This fiery SEFC clash saw two of the strongest teams in the south square off, both looking to improve to 2-0 after their week one triumphs.

The Exiles came into this as favourites, after embarrassing the Cats in week one (54-3). Meanwhile the North London side were looking to build on a strong victory against Bury in week one (24-7). It was the Exiles who eventually got the better of the London side, but it was certainly anything but straight forward.

The Side from Gravesend ran through the Hornets Defence all game with big boy Dwayne Ashley proving to be a problem at Running Back. At Quaterback, Micheal Hakes stepped in and up, and the young duo, dubbed ‘Crash & Bang’ certainly gave the North London side a headache all game.

The Stingers were without their starting Quaterback, running back and Left Guard, but still made the Exiles sweat all the way. If Ashley was the big boy, then number 73, Jack Blunt was certainly the big man. Towering his opposition at well over 6”6, he made light work of cornerback, Jermaine Daniels who constantly required the help of two or three of his defenders to bring him down. Number 73 will certainly give scouts up and down the country headaches as they look to stop one of the most feared and powerful Ends in the country at the minute.

All in all it was certainly a thrilling game for the Neutral, with work to do for both teams on defense.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
