“The Source You Cannot Trust!” is the mission of the hacktivist group that intends on weakening and undermining NCCI’s role in the Worker’s Compensation Industry, for political, social and economical reasons.
When an Experience Rating Analyst had issues with Microsoft, System Support advised that IT would be contacting Microsoft to resolve the issue. Later that day, the ER analyst gets a phone call from Microsoft and the caller asks for permission to remote log in and perform system updates to resolve the issues. The analyst accepts the call, but little did they know, it was not from a Microsoft employee, but from a member of the hacktivist group. Shortly after the phone call takes place, the system is breached.
This data breach manages to affect the entire database and corrupt the Experience Rating Maintenance Application (ERMA). As a result, several thousand worksheets that were processed by the system that night, contained incorrect data and were automatically sent out to carriers and insureds. In addition, these incorrect worksheets were available for purchase on NCCI.com.
This data breach also involved the theft of customer information, such as policies and unit data, which were sold to the highest bidders. ER was practically shut down. The department was unable to process any Experience Rating Modification Worksheets or complete Ownership Ruling letters out of fear of sending out incorrect information to its customers. In addition, the mail servers had been compromised and all mail was being redirected to an unknown source. No new requests were coming in to ER and the information that was received after the breach would most likely be false. As a result, all work in Experience Rating came to a complete halt.
This hacktivist group does not believe in NCCI's mission, in fact, they believe NCCI has been overly-regulating the Worker's Compensation Industry for the past century and want to see it crumble. After their disastrous attack, they managed to leak a message to the press and shortly after, all media outlets were reporting the events that took place at NCCI, diminishing its reputation and credibility and creating doubt amongst NCCI's shareholders.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
