TI sleeper spy helps catch online calculator hacker who created a programming language based on Zilog's ez08 assembly

On October 27, a sleeper spy working for the company Texas Instruments Inc. (stock name: TXN), who chose to remain unidentified, reported of an incident where a person named Peter Tillema, known as "PT_" on Cemetech.net (a calculator-hacking forum), had created a programming language for the TI 84+ CE called ICE and was claiming complete ownership of it.

TI insiders said the calculator technology giant and Zilog, Inc. (stock name: ZILG) were planning to issue a joint order to Tillema to pay a sum of USD100.00 to each company for every 500 B of code or 2 kB of media (e.g. a YouTube tutorial or a screenshot) created with the ICE programming language (or simply delete it), as it is based on the assembly code of the Zilog ez80 processor used in TI 84+ CE calculators. TI has also hinted at pursuing legal action against other members of the Cemetech community as well as other calculator hacking forums.

Zilog, Inc. said in an official statement, "We are obtaining details on Peter Tillema and we'll take appropriate legal action against him. We are also enlisting Texas Instruments and its legal team to help us in this case, as it is of paramount importance to our legal standing." It is unclear whether TI and Zilog are going to pursue legal action against the users and supporters of the ICE programming language, as opposed to just Tillema.

Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
