The Cowboys have made eight staff changes since the end of the 2017 season, including the recent firing of Paul Alexander. Jerry Jones is not fond of in season coaching moves, but this was the first sign of the desperation the team faces after several losses and a offense that has been ranked near the bottom of the league.
Most expected that to be the only move until after the season, and even at that is is no secret that the GM/owner is very fond of Garrett.

The announcement that both Garrett and Linehan are being relieved from their contracts came as a shock.

There was some anticipation that Scott Linehan could be relieved of duties of calling plays, with Kellen Moore taking over. What none of those in the media or fans saw coming was the firing of both before the end of the season. The Cowboys still think they can finish strong and make a push to the playoffs.

The shockingly disappointing play of the team under Garrett was a huge source of frustration. The defense has overall been better than expected, but has not been able to make plays in the second half often. Also, remember that Alexander was Garrett’s personal choice for the offensive line - and he failed.

Jerry Jones might always keep Jason in the family portrait, but it appears his time leading the family’s team has come to pass. The elder Jones tried to hang on until after the season, but poor play and pressure from Stephen and others forced his hand.

The question now is who will lead the team to finish the season and is any worthy coach willing to work under this owner/GM?

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
