Nick Saban has reportedly accepted the head coaching position at Georgia Tech. The surprise move comes after the retirement of Georgia Tech head football coach Paul Johnson. Saban has been the head coach at Alabama since 2007, and has won five national titles during his tenure. Saban will coach Alabama through the post season, and will assume duties at Georgia Tech after the season is complete.

Rece Davis, of ESPN was able granted a brief interview with Saban to discuss the reasons for the move.

Davis: Why leave Alabama?
Saban: I love Alabama, and I have great respect for the program. But, frankly, it's gotten a little boring. There's no challenge. I think I've done all I can do at Alabama.

Davis: But, why Georgia Tech?
Saban: Winning championships at Alabama is one thing. Alabama has a lot of resources. But, I want to take on the challenge of a program like Georgia Tech.

Davis: What sort of challenges are you talking about?
Saban: Georgia Tech is kind of a small school, and doesn't have near the resources of a school like Alabama. Winning championships there will be more challenging . I want to explore that challenge.

Davis: Do you think you can succeed at Georgia Tech the way you have at Alabama and LSU?
Saban: It's going to take a few years of recruiting, but we'll get there. I think we will start contending for the ACC in a couple years, and then be in the mix for national championships after that.

Davis: Any comment about Paul Johnson?
Saban: Johnson did a great job at Georgia Tech, and he's set us up well for success.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
