Pensacola, FL- When Mimi Stokes, 29, of Pensacola cooked poison ivy into her husbands dinner she thought it would be funny, the prank of all pranks, not a manslaughter charge.
"We were always pranking each other. The week before he put a real snake in my panty drawer!" says the mother of 3. It was in retaliation to the snake that she decided to pull the poison ivy growing in the yard and cook it in her famous collard greens. "I thought maybe his mouth and throat would itch for a few days and maybe drive him crazy. I ain't know it would kill him!" but that's exactly what happened to Robert Stokes, 31 the father of Mimi's children.
"He was severely allergic to poison ivy and upon ingestion his tongue ballooned and his esophagus swelled closed causing suffocation." says Robert's mother, Mahalia Stokes. "I don't even know why she thought that would be funny! I've lost my son and my grandchildren are fatherless over some childish prank war!"
Mimi Stokes is due in court for arraignment August 9th at 9 a.m. She is currently free on $100,000 bond.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow.
