10 STEP RIGHT UP

There have been some attempts by the Rain Dogs to play this song in the past, but with it's very complicated lyrics (unlike the next one on our list) it has been a nightmare to try and learn for the main singer Nenad Vasic

9 I WANT YOU

With only 8 lines of text, 5 of which are just repeating the title "I want you" this is maybe the most mind boggling "un-learnable" song on this list

8 COME ON UP TO THE HOUSE

This hopeful song from the album Mule Variations is beloved by many fans of Tom Waits' music but is sadly far from being considered as a set-list item for the Rain Dogs gigs.

7 YOU CAN NEVER HOLD BACK SPRING

Made famous by Roberto Benigni's movie, this song has been covered numbers of times, but not by the Rain Dogs

6 DIRT IN THE GROUND

...is what we'll all gonna be, before Vasa considers learning these lyrics

5 LITTLE TRIP TO HEAVEN, GRAPEFRUIT MOON

The number five spot will be shared by these two wonderful songs from closing time that not many Tom Waits fans don't know about.

4 WHAT'S HE BUILDING IN THERE?

Why would they never try to play this? We have a right to know...

3 THE PIANO HAS BEEN DRINKING

One of the all time favorites? Not if you ast the Rain Dogs

2 UNDERGROUND

In an interview from 1988. Waits describes the “most elaborate system of mole catacombs”, which is apparently to be found under Stonehenge. If this is not a good enough reason to learn this song, we don't know what is.

Songs that almost made it on the list: Please call me baby, Shiver me timbers, On a foggy night, Burma Shave, Who are you, I'll shoot the moon, Invitation to the Blues, never let go, Ruby's Arms... as you can suspect, the list of beautiful, tear-jerking songs that the Rain Dogs don't play can go on and on, but we reserved the no. One spot for:

1 MARTHA

This song has been most requested by old and young alike. The singer Nenad Vasic has on many occasions promised to learn it by March, but he has never specified of what year.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
