Georgia man charged for illegal deer hunting in Gwinnett County

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Rick Vincent Greco, 57 of Douglasville Georgia has been arrested in Gwinnett County for illegal hunting dating back to December 2017, Georgia Department of Natural Resources says.

DNR Division Capt. Johnny Johnson says the arrest of Greco stems from a complaint filed with the Georgia DNR in 2017.

Rick V Greco is charged with: Theft by Taking of Wildlife (6 counts), Hunting Without Hunter Safety Certification, Hunting Without Permission (2 counts), Hunting Out Of Season (8 counts), Taking Over the Bag Limit (4 counts), Recording and Reporting Requirement for Game Animals and Birds (4 counts), Hunting Deer Without Fluorescent Orange (2 counts), Hunting Big Game Over Bait (2 counts)

Johnson says that Greco was traveling to Gwinnett County acting like he was looking for a job. During the time Greco spent in Gwinnett County, he went out illegally hunting/pouching in multiple locations.

According to an incident report, officials have seized this as evidence:

Earlier this week, a search warrant was taken out for the home of 5690 Five Notch Trl
Douglasville, GA

Greco then turned himself in to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and was bonded out. Greco is now awaiting his trial date.

The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
