A gay man in Rowan County, North Carolina is suing the local county after the official records department refused to accept his request to change his name to “Icantake Twelveinches”.
The man, currently known as Randy Baker, says the county violated his freedom of speech and the decision to prevent him from changing his name was unconstitutional.

“There should be no way that the government can stop a grown man changing his name to anything he wants,” said Mr Baker. “There is no profanity and no brand name in my desired new name and if people are offended by it, that’s not my problem.”

However, the county doesn’t agree with Mr Baker’s view and is standing firm on its legal position ahead of the lawsuit. “We have a clear responsibility to prevent members of the public from choosing names for themselves or their children that can be considered deliberately obscene,” wrote a county official in a press statement.

“Mr Baker’s proposed new name is overtly sexual in nature and would be inappropriate and cause offence to many in the community.”Legal experts say Mr Baker has a good chance of winning his case against the county and expect he’ll eventually get his wish to change his name. “However, just because you can do something, doesn’t always mean you should,” said one lawyer. “In this case, a name like “Icantake Twelveinches” is going to make your life a lot harder, and frankly makes no sense whatsoever.”

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
