New details have emerged from a leaked source about the new Sonic the Hedgehog animated series

Last September, Sonic Mania Adventures Production Manager revealed on Instagram that a new animated Sonic series is in development:

“Gotta go fast, gotta make it last — finally swung around the SEGA office as we’re working on another fun series with the blue hedgehog… y’all are gonna love it,”

The series is confirmed to be related to the movie which is being released November this year. Recent sources tell us that series will act as a prequel to the film and will focus on Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles. It is unknown if any other characters are confirmed at this time.

The sources also tell us that the series will be released at the beginning of 2020, after the film has been released.

The live-action adaptation of the iconic cartoon blue hedgehog is will transplant Sonic to present-day world. Parks and Recreation‘s Ben Schwartz will voice Sonic, with Jim Carrey bringing his nemesis Doctor Robotnik to life.

Last December, a first look at the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog film had been released, teasing the beloved video-game character's new look.

While the poster only shows the outline of Sonic's new appearance, the internet has already had a strong reaction to the character's apparent muscular and humanoid form.

Executive producer Tim Miller told IGN: “It would be weird and it would feel like he was running around nude if he was some sort of otter-like thing. It was always, for us, fur, and we never considered anything different. It’s part of what integrates him into the real world and makes him a real creature."

“I don’t think SEGA was entirely happy with the eye decision, but these sorts of things you go, ‘It’s going to look weird if we don’t do this.’ But everything is a discussion, and that’s kind of the goal, which is to only change what’s necessary and stay true to the rest of it. He’s not going to feel like a Pixar character would because I don’t think that’s the right aesthetic to make it feel like part of our world.”

Sonic the Hedgehog is set to premiere in theaters on Nov. 8, 2019 in the US, Nov. 28 in Australia, and Dec. 26 in the UK.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
