[Washington Daily Tribune] WASHINGTON, D.C.-

45th President Donald J. Trump announced via Twitter today his intent to sign into US law the “Dangerous Exception Exterior Zone/ New Uniform Training Statute” act on the morning of Thursday, March 7th.

The act, passing both in the Senate and the House of Representatives, outlined an introduction into the US code to outlaw popular combat sports airsoft and paintball.

The act’s author, Sen. Lewis Barnes [D] of California, alleges that false crimes can be perpetrated with these realistic weapon replicas, using the example of a San Jose bank that was robbed with a $25 airsoft rifle in 2018. Barnes also explained to the Tribune in an interview that some branches of the military and many law enforcement agencies across the United States use the replicas for training purposes due to the rising cost of ammunition and supplies compared to the low cost of airsoft BBs and paintballs.

“The only people in this country that should have access to these very realistic training weapons are the military and police departments that need them for training. Not restricting them otherwise is a direct cause of our gun violence epidemic in this country. Making a move to ban these devices from the general public is a move in the right direction.”, Barnes told the Tribune.

Barnes introduced the act in late 2018, where it was passed 53-47 in the Senate. The bill now is awaiting presidential review, leaving it to the fate of becoming law or being vetoed by the president.

President Trump made a tweet on March 5th proclaiming his full intent to sign the act into law to “protect the American populace from FAKE crimes”, likely alluding to his past criticism of CNN and MSNBC news outlets which he dubbed “fake news”.

Only one thing is for sure, nobody really wants DEEZ NUTS.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
