A blonde was really tired of being made fun of, so she decided to have her hair dyed so she would look like a brunette. When she had brown hair, she decided to take a drive in the country. After she had been driving for a while, she saw a farmer and a flock of sheep and thought, "Oh! Those sheep are so adorable!" She got out and walked over to the farmer and said, "If I can guess how many sheep you have, can I take one home?" The farmer, being a bit of a gambler himself, said she could have a try. The blonde looked at the flock and guessed, "157." The farmer was amazed - she was right! So the blonde, who looked like a brunette, picked one out and got back into her car. Before she left, the farmer walked up to her and said. "If I can guess the real color of your hair, can I have my dog back?" You may be laughing but, this nationwide epidemic is haunting the minds of our children, teens, and adults in their everyday life. Despite what many people think, blondes are not all dumb. These poor innocent people are being stereotyped day by day by even by people they don’t even know, even though these scandalous remarks, most of the time, aren’t even true. Some blondes may come off as dumb, but things aren’t always as they seem.
Many blondes are smarter than your “average Joe”. Princess Diana, for instance, was heir to the British throne and known for her amazing charity work. Karen Nyberg, 50th woman in space, and was sent back to space this past May. James Garfield, 20th president of the United States was even blonde. But the real question is, does this stereotype really hurt blondes? A German study conducted in 2004 showed that blondes completed lab tests more slowly after reading blonde jokes. Many studies have also shown different results stating how intelligent blondes can be. The Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) conducts a test of 15-year-old children around the world every three years to compare student performance. This past year, Nordic, blonde-haired Finnish kids scored the highest. Also, the University of Paris showed, men are known to subconsciously mimic the blonde stereotype before them. Blondes are also paid 7 more than other women, even though their looks are thought to be “less professional” by 62 of other people.
But where did this epidemic begin? Some think it may be traced to Europe, with a beautiful French woman named Rosalie Duthe was teased in a 1775 play called Les curiosites de la Foire for her habit of pausing a long time before speaking, appearing not only stupid but literally dumb. Another theory is the ancient Greeks and Romans wanted blonde hair so bad, they would bleach their hair. A considerable amount of bleach repeatedly placed on the scalp and being inhaled could have some effect on one's mental status.
Despite all this joking and making fun of blondes should not feel inferior to others. So to all the blondes who have been made fun of, there are no dumb blondes, only blonde moments.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
