MIAMI FL - The Miami Marlins have reached an agreement to purchase chartered Little League organization "Deerfield Beach Little League" located in north Broward County Florida, the terms of which are undisclosed.

The Marlins organization, headed by the Derek Jeter Group, have been searching the market for a local Little League to expand their farm system for some time now. "There has been a lot of buzz about the changes, improvements, talent level and competitiveness coming from DBLL lately" says Jeter, "we had to take a closer look". Jeter went on to say "after meeting with league President Jason Siracusa, and touring their facility, we were blown away, transitioning to a full sub dyed jersey make the players look “dope”, the bold improvements made to their concession stand, switching to angus burgers and the larger hot dogs, were very bold moves, risky, but bold".

Having caught the attention of the Marlins organization, these bold moves seem to have paid off. "These are the types of brash decisions we look for in our management team, clearly Siracusa will be a tremendous asset to our organization…..we knew we had to have this league". Many of Siracusa’s compelling and thought-provoking ideas will be implemented at Marlins Park later this season said Jeter excitedly.

League President Jason Siracusa said "the time was right, this is a win win lose win situation". "Naturally the parents may be a bit upset at first, having to pay admission to watch their kids play baseball, but how can you put a price on quality time with your kids especially when they're getting MLB exposure? And we can make up the difference with some concession stand credits" lamented Siracusa. According to Siracusa “migrating all these players from Little League contracts to non-binding MLB contracts will be time consuming, but in the end providing the Marlins scouts unfettered access to such a pool of young talent is exactly the type of experience the parents are expecting when they sign their kids up for Little League each season and this deal delivers!”.

According to Jeter, the Marlins have been looking for a new location for the Marlins Home Run Sculpture which was recently removed from Marlins Park, "the cutout in left center field of field 4 is the perfect location for the Marlins sculpture" said Jeter. Other improvements on the drawing board are a semi-retractable dome made of organic hemp for Field 2 and paper straws for the concession stand "our commitment to a healthy, sustainable environment is unwavering" said Siracusa.

When reached for comment, Little League District Administrator Brian Johnson stated "This is shocking and unprecedented. It needs to be sent to Williamsport for approval", to which Siracusa responded "too late". "That's the brashness I'm talking about" said a beaming Jeter.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
