Broadway veteran Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon, Falsettos, The Boys in the Band) has announced his engagement to longtime friend and fellow Broadway star Gavin Creel (Hello, Dolly!, Waitress, Hair).

According to Rannells, he and [Gavin] have always been best friends. "I mean, we were both gay theater kids when we met, and we had both just moved into the city from tiny towns, so, like, how could we not instantly become best friends?!" Andrew laughs. "I guess it's pretty natural, you know, that we started dating."

"And we tried to keep it on the down-low because of the publicity and stuff. Neither of us are active on social media." Creel adds. "And I think the fans will be surprised but not really."

According to BroadwayWorld, Rannells and Creel knew they would go public after Rannells' memoir, "Too Much is Not Enough," was published on March 12. "Gavin's a huge part of the story," says Rannells. "We didn't want people drawing conclusions or spreading rumors that didn't come from us."

"The good part was," says Creel, "because we're known to be really good friends, we could be seen together all the time and like doing really weird things and no one would question it!"

Rannells and Creel performed a duet together at the 2019 Broadway Backwards event to benefit Equity Fights AIDS. In their performance of "Where You Are," the two almost kissed, but didn't, much to the dismay of the audience.

"We're a good pair because he's [Rannells] so eccentric and confident," says Creel.

"And he's [Gavin] like the cutest little baby boy. He definitely keeps me under control!" Rannells adds with a laugh.

When asked about wedding plans, Creel says, "Well for venues, we're looking into it. There's this one really beautiful chapel at USC, but you'll just have to wait and see! It's been so many years, and we're finally doing this. We're just really, really happy."

Andrew Rannells can currently be seen in Black Monday on Showtime. His book, "Too Much is Not Enough," is on the shelves now! Gavin Creel was most recently seen starring in Broadway hit Waitress opposite Sara Bareilles.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
