Indian Buffet Closes, Makes Way for Music Venue

Family-run Indian restaurant Bombay Royale will close its doors at 1 Roundhouse Plaza for good on April 15th, 2019.

Owners Pramod Warriar, Vince George, and Vargheese Athimootil opened the beloved brunch spot in Spring of 2016. The restaurant's lease expires at the end of the month. The current landlord, Eric Suher, is signing a new lease with the Iron Horse Entertainment Group.

A year after Bombay Royale opens, the Valley Advocate named then Best Indian Restaurant in their Best of the Valley awards.

"I'm sad to see my favorite lunch spot close. We don't need another music venue in this area as much as affordable and diverse restaurant options."

Said Benson Hyde, the owner of Provisions, a specialty food and craft beverage store across the street from the restaurant.

Iron Horse Entertainment Group (IHEG) is planning their fifth venue in the city, after opening their fourth, the Parlour Room, in 2016. This new space is rumored to be for hard core and heavy metal, a genre often left out of IHEG's other venues.

Bombay Royale will have a closing party on April 13th during brunch from 11am to 2pm.

The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
