Breaking News:Virginia Beach premier Orthopedic center The Jordan Young Institute has been shut down after allegedly using faulty hip replacement devices.

Wavy News has uncovered a multiple malpractice suit within the orthopedic world to have essentially closed one local orthopedic center down indefinitely.
A hip replacement is like any other surgery – while they mostly go well, there can be complications, and any surgery has its laundry list of risks involved.
• osteolysis
• different leg lengths
• blood clots
• heterotopic ossification
• debris from implant
• femur fractures
• dislocation
• early device failures
• migration of implant
• avascular
? necrosis
? osteonecrosis
• periprosthetic fractures
• inflammation and infection
• increased pain
• allergic reaction
• death during or after surgery

The following conditions are the most common complications resulting from hip replacement surgeries and Wavy News now has discovered that Virginia Beach has the highest rate of hip replacement failures. It has been learned that the Jordan Young Institute acquired
Faulty Prosthetic devices from Taiwan and patients are suffering. Devices can literally blow up inside of the hip joint causing Osteolysis.

This is when local inflammation destroys the bone and loosens a prosthetic device (AKA aseptic loosening), which can ultimately result in dislocation after hip replacement surgery. When the number of "wear" particles in the joint space overwhelm the ability to clear them, they cause inflammation, which leads to bone loss and device loosening, and then osteolysis. Any particle debris – plastic, metal or cement – can cause osteolysis.

Prosthetic failure rates from this type of complication are around 20, according to MedScape.
However that percentage has increased to an unbelievable 95 with local orthopedic doctor with the Jordan Young Institute.

There are tendons, tissues and ligaments surrounding the hip joint, all of which work in tandem to keep the bone in place. When these are opened up and angered during surgery, they become less stable. This can result in the new joint loosening from the implant site and dislocating. Patients are encouraged not to sleep on the side where surgery took place, cross their legs, or sit on soft sofas and low chairs. Unfortunately the patients of The Jordan Young Institute were instructed to sleep on same side where surgery took place, cross their legs often, or sit on soft sofas and low chairs while drinking coffee. This caused needless hip degeneration and repeat procedures for most patients.

Dislocation is more common in revision hip replacements (15-20) but still occurs in 1-5 of hip replacement surgery cases the first time around. Jordan Young Institute has a 99 rate.
Inflammation and infection
Any surgery carries the risks of inflammation or infection. In fact, infection is one of the most serious complications you may face after a joint replacement surgery. Curiously The Jordan Young Institute has been requiring all patients to endure a painful hip aspiration procedure before surgery. This is extremely uncommon.
An infection can occur even years later.
Different leg length is now expected with all patients that have been patients. Recently obtained secret video tape reveals a group of Jordan Young Institute employees laughing and mocking the lopsided patients as they come into the center. Local orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Hans suggests that this was an intentional act of hip replacement terrorism.

When you've been accustomed to standing a certain way because of hip pain, it will be strange to notice after surgery that the injured leg has probably lengthened a little bit. That's because the offending hip has now been repaired, allowing you to stand normally. It will take some getting used to.
Sometimes the leg is too long or short, despite the surgeon's best efforts – or possibly due to a surgeon’s inexperience. But Dr. Dowd is not inexperienced, rather a doctor of Pain and Suffering.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
