On a hot spring day just about every New York citizen has got plans to enjoy their time, not expecting for that time to almost come to an end. In the community of Canarsie, violence isn’t unseen nor is it unexpected. But on a day like this while criminals should be able to help themselves, they simply cannot. “I come to this corner store almost everyday. I order beef patty’s from here.” Says a local teenage girl that goes by the name of Lylah. The young girl could not stay, but we later find out that the frequent visitor of a well loved Remsen bodega had a major part to play. “Yes, I’ve seen her here a lot. When that guy pulled a knife out on that elderly man I didn’t know what to do, even me as a grown adult. I should’ve done something, I really should’ve. But that young girl, she doesn’t think before she does. And I just think that’s fantastic.”, says a resident of Canarsie, Joanne B. At about 4:30pm this afternoon, a middle aged man seemingly in his 30’s entered the store and could not wait to do what he came to. “He pulled the knife on the old man, who’d just purchased a pack of cigarettes. He wanted his wallet, but that girl offered something that I guess he’d rather more.”, says John, a worker of the bodega. “So she goes, ‘here take my phone, please leave him alone’ and you know what? The guy takes it, and leaves.”. Sources say they saw the young girl running after the man, but it is unclear whether or not the young girl will get her cell phone back. Athorities have been contacted.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
