On April 23rd, Smith was driving on Highway 20 when she said an erratic driver caused her to swerve off the side of the road and into some trees. As the Honda sped off, She got out of the car to survey the damage and then a second driver hit her, pinning her underneath his car.
"My arm was broken, my legs were crushed, I really thought I wasn't going to be able to walk,” said Smith. "Laying there are on the concrete that's all I could think about was what about my marriage what about my honeymoon, what about all these plans that I had."
A woman named Kathy pulled over and stayed with her until medics arrived. Smith recalls first responders lifting her from underneath the car and placing her on the stretcher. "I want to thank her for being there for me and holding my hand during that you know that was absolutely the scariest thing I have ever been through and she was so selfless and stayed there with me," said Smith.
Smith was rushed to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical center with multiple cuts to her arms and legs, along with a broken arm. The doctors placed seven screws, a plate and a rod in her arm. She will be in a cast for about six weeks, her wounds will soon be scars.
Witnesses described the Honda S.U.V. and others had described her.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation.
