Banff Canada: Wildlife Officials are having difficulty locating the moose which is responsible for raping a man near Kananaskis, Canada, two weeks ago. Law Enforcement Officials are warning people to hike in groups and be extra cautious when hiking. Detective Jon Duplanter, who has had over twenty years of experience in dealing with human and wildlife conflicts, said this is the strangest and most alarming case he has ever had. "Typically when we get a report that a human has been attacked, it's by a bear or maybe a mountain lion. I have dealt with cases where bears have ripped the arms and legs of people off, but this moose case is so strange. It's like he views humans as a potential mate", said Duplanter. The bull known as "Martin" by zoo keepers, escaped from the Calgary zoo in mid-April. The manager of the Calgary zoo figured that would be the last we would hear from him, but it turns out that he made headlines just two weeks later raping nearly a dozen cows. Martin was kept alone and has never had any interactions with other moose while at the zoo. He is estimated to weigh upwards of nearly 1500 pounds and poses a serious risk to hikers in the area. Duplanter said, "Most female moose do not mate in the spring and this is what concerns us. This bull moose seems to be in the middle of mating season and he really doesn't seem to care who he mates with." Duplanter said they do have some leads on where he might be now. Robert Craig, who is an experienced elk hunter, said just this past weekend he may have encountered the moose officials are searching for. "I was in my elk stand and suddenly I see a pack of deer running like they're being chased by some predator. I got my gun ready preparing to see some type of bear or mountain lion come tearing through the trees, but instead it was a huge bull moose. I thought it was really weird at the time but didn't think anything more of it." Officials have been closely monitoring the area and are hopeful they can locate the moose exterminate him. Jackson Farrell, a professor of biology and zoology from Calgary said behavioral traits like these from moose, though unusual are not unheard of. "Bull Moose are typically very sexually charged, especially during the fall months. But in the case of this moose, he is not on the typical reproductive cycle that most wild moose are, so there is a bit of a disconnect. He is likely not finding a lot of luck mating with other moose, so he is turning to deer, cows, and potentially even humans." While they do not have a pinpoint location of where the moose is located, most Canadian wildlife officials are optimistic they will be able to locate Martin soon. "Please be careful when doing outdoor activities anywhere in the Banff area. Be aware of your surroundings and do not hike alone. We think we can find him soon", said Duplanter.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
