Lara Croft Will Undergo Male Transition in Upcoming “Reign of the Tomb Raider”

As ambitious as it was to bring back heroine Lara Croft in a reboot game more than a decade ago, for the upcoming Rise of the Tomb Raider series, developer Crystal Dynamics has announced it’s taking further steps in the lore by announcing the character will change genders.
Lara Croft, played by actress Alicia Vikander in Rise of the Tomb Raider, is set to appear in the third title, Reign of the Tomb Raider, which has been slated for release in early 2020.
Reign of the Tomb Raider is a reboot of the Tomb Raider series that, according to a press release, will use “canonical elements” from the original Tomb Raider games in which the heroine was in training — though she will change her gender after becoming the iconic Lara Croft.
Since Rise of the Tomb Raider was released in 2015, there have been both speculation and rumours of Lara Croft’s future. Some of those things were confirmed thanks to a marketing film for the Rise of the Tomb Raider sequels, which reportedly showed Vikander training in the same jungle she trained in Tomb Raider games past.
Reign of the Tomb Raider is Crystal Dynamics’ take on a reboot, which the developer says is a “true sequel to the first”.

According to the press release, “Reign of the Tomb Raider is set within the universe of Rise of the Tomb Raider and is an origin story for Tomb Raider, providing a glimpse of Lara’s journey to becoming the Tomb Raider we all know”.
The game is not a sequel, but rather a reboot of its own. “Reign of the Tomb Raider is a true sequel to the first game and is an origin story for Tomb Raider providing a glimpse of Lara’s journey to becoming the Tomb Raider we all know”.
Crystal Dynamics cites Rise of the Tomb Raider as evidence that its reboot style of game is still popular today, with more than 20 million copies sold and a “golden age of Tomb Raider” after 2010’s Tomb Raider III.
Where that game put Lara on her first adventure, some will surely feel it was too logical and rushed.
Now Crystal Dynamics seems to have “clearly understood the audience” and gone about setting up the cinematic reveal for the series’ next adventure.

It has already been a strange year for video game updates. First Assassin’s Creed Odyssey dropped a surprise trailer with the support of Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II, which most people found amusing.
Then there was that storyline that was supposed to move Destiny 2 into the next phase, but which ended up being cancelled entirely. And even in a year when AAA games are releasing near at this rate, with no sign of lessening in 2019, this would be a big change.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
