Twenty-Six (26) Sierra Leonean Top Entertainers, who left the shores of Sierra Leone on the 22nd, of October 2017 for the Peace, Love and Unity Concert and the Sierra Leone Festivals in the United States headed by Ms. Dorine Poawui, have returned home safely on Sunday, December 3rd, 2017 after a successful Musical Festival. The organizers of these events held a meet and greet event for fans to meet their favorite Entertainers in Maryland on October 25th, which had a great impact on raising the momentum for the main event ahead.

These events where aimed at promoting the cultural beauty of Sierra Leone through their local music with the motive to expose Sierra Leonean talents by connecting with different cultural backgrounds and ethnic groups from all works of life through their music.

On this first trip to the United States, The CEO of Peace, Love and Unity Concert and the Sierra Lone Festivals in the United States Ms. Dorine Poawai Hosted the entertainers at the Hilton and Marriot Hotel in Green belt, Maryland and rented a House in Helicot City, Maryland for lodging upon their arrival on October 23rd, 2017.

With the help of some of the best promoters that Sierra Leone has to offer in the United States and Home In Sierra Leone and the advertising power of American TV from TV networks like: MTV, BET, MSMBC, TVI, VHI, the weather channel, HLN, NBC sport, CNBC owns Network, DIY channel among others, also sent waves across the country in letting their audience know that they will be coming to a venue near them soon enough.

The main event happened on Saturday, November 4th, 2017 in Washington DC at the Karma Hall which attracted Masters of ceremony, Disk Jockeys [DJ’s] organizers and representatives from the Ministries of Youth Affairs, Tourism and Cultural Affairs from Sierra Leone, along with other lined institutions and thousands of fans who cheered up the artists as they performed their hit songs.

It was indeed a site to see with Sierra Leoneans and non-Sierra Leonean communities in the USA coming together and enjoying what the Sierra Leone Music Industry has to offer to the world if giving the opportunity to continue touring. As a witness to these events, I can say, performances put out by both the Sierra Leonean based musicians and the Diaspora Sierra Leonean based artists was phenomenally amazingly outstanding. Fans were very much entertained by the stage performances of various artists which they described as “extraordinary” adding that they will like to see more of them in the same setting of entertainment in the near feature.

The following musicians attended the program: Milton Koker aka Colabo, Sarah D Great, Arkman, Rosy from KME, Gospel Singer Sister Cordellia, Lady Macky, C-Bolt, LXG, K-Man, Nega Don, Kass, Pretty S, Morris, Dallas B, Succulent, Ragga Spice.

Following Sierra Leone Government officials in attendances: Osman Jalloh from Youth Affairs and Foday Jalloh Director of Culture Affairs.

    whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

    two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
