Former X-Factor star is recovering in hospital after being hit by a bike outside the Hard Rock Cafe in Bali

Former X-Factor star Jason Owen has been rushed to hospital after he was hit by a bike on the busy streets of Bali.

The singer is on the holiday island for his cousin's wedding, and had been celebrating at the Hard Rock Cafe in Kuta Beach with his fiancee Becy Harvey, when the accident happened.

'I came out forgetting I was in another country and you wouldn't bloody believe it I got hit by a bike,' he told his fans on social media on Friday.

'But back at the motel and luckily for me it's only a sprain and I'll back but up enjoying the rest of my holiday tomorrow.'

Owen gave two thumbs up as he reclined in his motel bed with his left ankle strapped up, joking he wouldn't be walking too far for a while.

The X-Factor Australia 2012 runner-up arrived in Bali on September 21 to be a groomsman for his cousin Heidi.

'Heidz you are so beautiful and haven known Brad all my life I am confident you will have a happy lifetime together,' he said after the ceremony.

Other photos showed him relaxing by a pool and riding on the back of a scooter while Harvey drove.

Owen proposed on Studio 10 in February, dropping down on one knee after performing Celine Dion's Power of Love.

'I love this girl so much. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me. And I really love you more than words can describe,' he said.

'I wouldn't want to think of it any other way than being with you here right now, for the rest of my life, and I love you so much.'

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
