Pune: Deav Doda created history by clinching the Rotax Max Karting Championship title in the final weekend of the Indian Karting Championship on Sunday.
Coming into the weekend, Deav was leading the Rotax Max Karting championship table by a five point margin to his title rival Ahmed. Therefore it was critical to have a clean weekend with no risks and no surprises and finish ahead of Ahmed in all sessions possible which included two heat races, a pre-final and the final.
Right from practice one, Deav was in the mix for the top three spots albeit missing a few tenths from outright benchmark. However, he almost magically put it together in qualifying - taking pole position by over two-tenths of a second (0.2 sec) - a dominating showing given the drivers from 2nd to 5th position were separated by just five-hundredth of a second (0.05 sec).
Eventually Deav settled for third with Ahmed finishing second this time around; with the top three finishing within 0.2 seconds. Numbers were crunched with bated breath and at the end of it - Deav emerged four points ahead thanks to his consistent performance over the weekend as the winner.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
