Florida daycare worker, 42, is charged with child neglect after four toddlers in her care broke their legs on the SAME DAY

Sophie Anne Leeson, 42, of California, has been charged with four counts of child neglect
Four toddlers, aged 13-21 months, allegedly broke their legs on May 21
She was arrested last month and released on $4,000 bond - she cannot contact or work with children

Sophie Anne Leeson, 42, of Dogtown, California, was arrested last month for the alleged incidents at Kids Discovery Learning Center in Valparaiso, Florida.

The four young children who were between the ages of 13 and 21 months were all fine in the morning but later had difficulty standing or walking, the Panama City News Herald reports.

Medical personnel determined they had suffered leg fractures from the events on May 21.

One mother Tina Gibson told the News Herald that she had instructed Leeson to keep her child inside on the day of the alleged incident because she had a rash.

But upon picking her up, she claimed to find 'dirt all in her hair' and wasn't given an explanation for three days. She believes Leeson may have let her crawl around outside.

Gibson said her daughter suffered a hairline fracture but is healing-well. Her injuries were not as serious as the other three children.

His balance is still a little funny, but I believe that will get better soon,' Graham added.

Surveillance footage allegedly shows Leeson walking one of the victims, an 18-month-old while holding his hands above his head.

She is claimed to have then 'rapidly jerked him into the air' according to an arrest report.

'When (he) was picked up, his feet and legs were in the air and was dropped feet first into a wagon. Other children were placed in the wagon and it was pulled outside,' the News Herald reported.

Then after that same child awoke from a nap inside the wagon, he was unable to put weight on his legs.

A teacher is claimed to have instructed Leeson to contact the center's front desk several times about the injury, according to the site.

Leeson, who has been released on $4,000, is not allowed contact with any child and she cannot work for any child facilities or schools.

She awaits a hearing after being charged with four counts of child neglect that resulted in greater bodily harm.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
