When Shigetaka Kurita created the first emoji in 1999, he had to work within a grid measuring 12 by 12 pixels. That's a total of 144 dots, or 18 bytes of data, meaning that the Japanese designer's complete set of 176 pictograms took up just over 3 kilobytes. A minuscule dose of information, but an enormous amount of meaning.

The ???? emoji was first introduced in January of 2012. We can find rumblings that ???? Folded Hands depicts a high five on Twitter in January 2012. These were early days for emojis for many people, and such interpretations of these fun but mystifying newfangled glyphs were—and remain—understandable.

Shigetaka Kurita(creator of emoji) confirmed these detail himself in March later that year that the ???? emoji is indeed a high five emoji. People believed that to be true until the june of 2015 when Wikipedia launched Emojipedia. Emojipedia misinterpreted multiple emojis including the high five emoji. They wrote it down as folded hands or praying hands. Riding on the fame of wikipedia people believed emojipedia to be true rather the emojiology(Shigetaka's site) and the misinterpreted emoji went all over the internet.

It was establised in early 2018 that the young intern who made this mistake just wanted to prove his friend wrong and changed the interpretation of multiple emojis.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
