Next Sonic Game Will Have More Playstyles Than Previous Boost Formula Games, Takashi Iizuka Claims

During a recent interview, Takashi Iizuka, head of Sonic Team, claimed that the next Sonic game will take inspiration from previous games. "We have obviously not been doing the best, so we're going to try to take our golden 3D age and turn it into something new. All I can say on the matter is the boost formula will stay, but there will be elements from games that people loved," he said.

From what we can tell, this removes the possibility of a Sonic Adventure remake. The only other piece of information he's talked about is more playstyles than any modern Sonic game. "What we're making sure to do is put more than the boost formula, the classic playstyle, and the custom character creation. I recently played Adventure 2 and realized that what people loved about it was the diversity of the character."

We know the next game will come out in 2021. What we will have in 2020 is currently unknown, if anything at all. So all we have now is the fact that there will be a boost formula Sonic game with more playstyles than before.

Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
