Mumbai: An Andheri resident absconded from Kasturba Medical College and Hospital after he was brought in as he suspected to have been infected with COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).
The 28-year-old, hailing from Jamshedpur had a fever running when he tried to board a flight to Shillong on the evening of 23rd March and was marked suspicious after a mandatory thermal scanner screening. He was taken to Kasturba Hospital at about 8.30 pm for in-detail testing and was accompanied by an attendant.
“He was supposed to be admitted to be taken to isolation ward when he made an escape. We tried to contact the patient and when he did not receive our calls we lodged a complaint at Marol police station,” said Kasturba Hospital’s Emergency Officer Dr Bhubanananda Maharana.
The police has begun their search to find the suspect and have received information that the suspect is hiding out at a friend’s house in Andheri West since yesterday evening. The Police have launched a search operation for the absconding suspect and his associate.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild.
