The world famous brass septet MNOZIL BRASS have announced an extensive tour across Europe taking place in autumn 2020. This time they will be joining forces with Slovenian SCHAKA QUINTET.

Schaka Quintet consists of five aspiring musicians from Slovenia, who are guided by music, connected by the joy of playing together, and united by a sincere friendship. All members Matej Kravcar, Lenart Zih, Dominik Rus (trumpet), Blaž Ogrič (horn), Tine Plahutnik (trombone), Rok Grubelnik (tube) are also students of the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana.

We asked them how did this cooperation begin. “Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band? And you were so impressed with their performance and music they played? Well that’s exactly what happened to us in February when we went to the concert of Mnozil Brass in Ljubljana. After the concert we also had the honor to meet them and through the conversation we got an idea about joint project, that is now an unexpected reality,” explained members of Schaka Quintet.

“Music is a conversation, a give and take. And connection between Schaka quintet is impressive. They are amazing musicians and people. And we are really excited and looking forward to this tour” said Thomas Gansch from Mnozil Brass. “If you want to be a rock star or just be famous, then run down the street naked, you’ll make the news or something. But if you want music to be your livelihood, then play, play, play and play! And eventually you’ll get to where you want to be.”

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
