As mentioned in John R. Gribbin’s ‘The Jupiter effect’ at exactly 9:47 pm, today, the planet Pluto will pass directly behind Jupiter, in relation to the Earth. This rare alignment would mean that the combined gravitational force of the two planets would exert a stronger tidal pull, temporarily counteracting the Earth's own gravity and making people weigh less. Gribbin called this the Jovian-Plutonian Gravitational Effect.

According to NASA scientist, John Moore, you can experience the phenomenon by jumping in the air at the precise moment the alignment occurred. If performed successfully one will experience a strange floating sensation.

Published in late 1974, the Jupiter Effect's starting point was the observation that in 1982 a rare alignment of the planets was going to occur, in which all the planets, including Earth, would line up on one side of the sun. This much was agreed upon by all astronomers. This unusual planetary alignment occurs every 179 years, and had last been seen in 1803. The aligned planets would exert an increased tidal force on the sun. This would trigger an excess of sunspots, causing more solar particles to be flung into the Earth's upper atmosphere. The energy flowing into the atmosphere would generate stronger winds, increasing the earth's rate of spin. The faster spin would place stress on the Earth's crust, and this would, finally, bring about changes in the central gravitational force.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
