"Doc Martin" star Martin Clunes latest celebity to purchase home in Sandwich, MA

SANDWICH, MA - A popular British actor is the latest in a string of celebrities to purchase a home in the Cape Cod town of Sandwich.

British actor Martin Clunes is best known for his role as Doc Martin, a hemophilic surgeon turned general practitioner in a small Cornwall port town. His new part-time residence, located on Gully Lane in East Sandwich, includes a stables which Clunes intends to keep horses for riding on the nearby beaches.

Clunes is passionate about horses and has filmed several documentaries about the animals.
"Sandwich and the 6A area had really appealed to us during our recent visit to Martha's Vineyard to film a documentary about the Island", said Clunes, "We really enjoy the feel of the town, and fancied the ability to get a proper cup of tea".

The list of celebrities that have recently purchased homes in the are include championship figure skater Brian Boitano, actor Robert Hayes, and the Gekko from the Gieco commercials. The celebrities have agreed to take out a class-action restraining order against serial stalker Judy Kaufmann who was not available for comment.
