The Canadian cartoon series "Wayside School" based on the works by Louis Sachar, has been announced to be revived, with 2 new seasons ordered. Most of the cast will be reprising their roles with John Derevlany (known for the HBO Max show "Squish") also returning to his role as the head writer and developer.
The 3rd season will see the return to the zany and weird adventures of Todd and his friends, Maurecia, Dana, and Myron in the sideways school of Wayside School. Characters new and old will appear such as Stephen, Mrs. Jewls, Mr. Kidswatter, Louis, and much more.
Some new things to expect in Season 3 of "Wayside" is that more characters will join the main cast such as Shari and Jenny. Villains like Le Chef will return for more trouble, and we will explore places beyond Wayside School. Episodes will be focused on more of Mrs. Jewls' students, and it was also teased that a new student may join the class.
Louis Sachar, the author of the original "Sideways Stories from Wayside School" books, is also reportedly more involved with the cartoon's development.
The revival will premiere on Teletoon in Canada, and it will premiere on Nickelodeon in the US in early 2022.
