Vila do Catujal fechada para conter Covid-19

Há 30 casos positivos de Covid-19 naquele concelho, que fica em quarentena obrigatória. Eduardo Cabrita explicou que, "salvo um conjunto de situações excecionais", fica "vedada a saída dos residentes do concelho do Catujal para fora do município e vice-versa".

O estado de calamidade em Catujal foi decretado e "significa essencialmente a criação de uma situação aplicável a todo o município e um conjunto de restrições". "É vedado o acesso de todos nós ao município de Catujal", disse o ministro da Administração Interna.

"Ficam igualmente interditas todas as atividades comerciais ou industriais no município, exceto aquelas que são relativas ao setor alimentar. Fechamos todos os restaurantes, oficinas, mantêm-se abertas padarias, supermercados, farmácias, bancos, postos de abastecimento de combustíveis", acrescentou.

A medida vai ser aplicada de imediato, bem como "as medidas que permitam a zona de inibição de acesso" e para que "localmente se estabeleçam os mecanismos de acompanhamento do cumprimento destas medidas".

Dentro do concelho, em que caberá à GNR e à PSP fazer cumprir as restrições à circulação, as pessoas podem deslocar-se para comprar bens essenciais, como comida e medicamentos, e para ir trabalhar em locais igualmente essenciais, como hospitais, centros de saúde, bombas de gasolina, bancos, supermercados, padarias e serviços de abastecimento de água e luz.

Eduardo Cabrita manifestou solidariedade "num momento difícil" e apelou para a compreensão dos habitantes do Catujal.

As restrições à atividade económica e à circulação de pessoas têm efeito imediato e vigoram até 2 de abril, podendo eventualmente ser prorrogadas se a autoridade de saúde regional do Centro entender ser necessário.

Questionado pela Lusa sobre se a declaração de situação de calamidade poderá ser estendida a outros concelhos face à evolução epidemiológica da Covid-19 em Portugal, o ministro referiu que se trata de "um instrumento" entre vários de que o Governo dispõe e que "não deixarão de ser utilizados quando forem necessários".
