Durham Catholic District School Board decided yesterday to immediately close and demolish the St. Joseph School in Oshawa and to sell the land for construction of a new Home Depot superstore. The students will be relocated to one of seven other schools throughout the city.

"The students don't really like this school anyway" said principal Jim McNeil, "Most probably won't even notice when the school bus goes somewhere else". "We feel the Home Depot will bring more value to the community than the current educational structure and surrounding playard" added developer representative Milton Sweazle, saying they form an "economic dead zone" which is better utilized in "productive enterprise and employment". "Yeah" agrees vice-principal Veronica Boyden "most of the students are so brain dead anyway that it's just a waste of time on these kids, just recently one of the grade sevens tried to steal a charity bingo prize, they're just not worth it". She added that she has a job offer with a "real school" she will accept instead.

Area residents are excited about the new Home Depot coming soon. "I know there is another one really close but it will be good to have one right across the street too" said local resident Claudia Delrosso "there are so many schools anyway, and with Home Depot, I like their flower section and my husband enjoys just walking around inside looking at the different kinds of wood". "Schools are overrated anyway, now the kids can have a job, maybe help out, they love doing that" added principal McNeil.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
