Over the weekend Newly formed Deeside Dragons 2 faced the mighty Widnes Wild for the first clash in the New Year. After a massive score line ending in 22-2 in the Wilds favour it wasn’t all bad news for one player Sam Plant 87 in his first session with the Dragons he took on the roll of Captain. With a slow start to the session Mr Plant has been turning heads at Rival Club The Widnes Wild as Coaching staff and management over at Widnes have spoke to Stevie fellows the pass weekend over the transfer of Sam big rumours over the move has been heard around The Den. It’s set that sam will be joining fellow Dragons and Ex wild player Geoff Wigglesworth. Here is what Coach Stevie Fellow had to say “We found sam when we placed trails over the off session in August he stood out above the crowd and was a great team player we wanted in the Dragons changing room I’ve been speaking to Mike Teinert GM of the Wild and he has been calling me none stop along side Ollie Barron asking for Sam to sign before the deadline at the end of the month”
It comes as a great loss to the team a Sam has had a great Rec session at Widnes bases Riverside Raiders and now with a great rookie season at Dragons NIHL2
The Dragons team wish Sam all the best him his up and coming Ice Hockey career

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
