People are tested, some say, not to show them their weaknesses but for them to discover their strengths. Dhrupad Srivastava is one such person. His is not a rag to riches story. It is a story which was for years always waiting around the corner to unfold. And now that it has, it is bursting at the seams to be told.
Like any success trajectory, it has its fair share of achievements and a more than liberal portion of hardships. As newly minted BIT (Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra) graduate with a job already in hand, things were looking good for Dhrupad in 2012. However, a shocking detection of cancer in his mother shattered the go-getter’s dreams. The sickness had already grown to its last stage by the time it was detected and the mother required complete care. He let his job offer go and resorted to taking care of her. Most jobs are not sympathetic to demands of private life, even in times of crisis. By the end of the battle, everyone in his family had lost their jobs. Dhrupad had lost his mother and was battling severe depression.
For two years, he could not bring himself to resume living a normal life. Medical debts of more than a crore were looming, his father was unemployed and his family was still shattered from the loss of a family member. The financial strain propelled Dhrupad to get back to job hunting and try to set things right. He sat through exams and interviews of various firms. Daffodil Software Ltd. was one such company looking for developers. They took a seven-hour long job interview for a junior developer’s position. Like any self-respecting company would, they wanted to make sure the two year hibernation did not rust his skills. He passed the grilling and joined the firm as a Junior IT Associate. However, only getting a job was not enough. He knew he had to be good at it. The two years of inexperience he had as backlog was a burden which had to be shed soon. From early morning to late night, his desk saw the tale of his immense hard work. And the diligence did pay off. Within merely seven months of joining, he received a three-post jump. From his position of a Junior IT Associate, he was promoted to the chair of Manager IT. Needless to say, it was sheer hard work and conscientiousness which enabled him to make the journey, which would have taken others a span of seven years, so short. It is here that he also found love, the woman who would later become his wife.
However, even as he fulfilled his professional duties with dedication, the memories of the two nightmarish years of his mother’s sickness and the resultant medical debts were still alive in him. Experience taught him that working in a place which he could not call his own meant he could never be completely secure, professionally or financially. After two years of working, he decided to once again to leave his job. This time, however, for a different reason. Even the incentive of a much bigger package offered by Daffodil Software couldn’t stray him from his desire of self-reliance. It took four months of negotiations to work out the logistics before he could call the shots with his business partner Hitesh Mittal.
Belonging to a family which works regular jobs, the decision to venture into business was a difficult one. 2016, however, was a good year for new entrepreneurs. The Prime Minister had launched various schemes to aid start-ups and the environment had become more accepting. Still, starting a firm without a loan and no clients in hand could have been a disastrous decision. The two partners decided to go ahead with the venture and invested their savings. Clients began ticking in within a few months and the firm was soon strong enough for Dhrupad to pay off his debts. Informatics Matrix has till date completed 432 projects. But the biggest success is that Dhrupad and team was able to retain all clients gained since the time of its inception.
Dhrupad’s story might not be one of exceptional circumstances or extraordinary events. It, nonetheless, continues to inspire with its elements of girth and strength of character required to overcome human failings.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
