Andrea Puig, female forward of the North Sydney Futsal Monday Night mixed league's sub-champions Bench Stretchers, has announced that she is taking a break from international and local futsal following the team's successful Winter campaign.

"It is a reality that I need to focus on other priorities," she said.

Puig, who made her debut in the North Sydney league in 2017, also helped Bench Stretchers reach the league playoffs in numerous occasions during a glittering multi-year international career.

"Sometimes things come for good reasons. This time, I take a break to focus on more mundane, yet no less important things such as nappy changing, breastfeeding and child caring," added the former Goalileo football player. "Although I plan to come back to Bench Stretchers, it is the happiest time of my life and the right moment to take a break from this team."

Jose Magana, Puig's partner and father of the baby, expressed his delight on the news, both of the upcoming baby and the fact that Puig is taking a break "following her to the matches plus all the swimming, cross-fitting, cycling and climbing was exhausting even to watch. I will be as excited getting involved in raising the baby as I have been enthusiastically cheering for Andrea in her sport's career. "

The management of Bench Stretchers announced that although the team will be devastated by Puig's departure, they will continue onto the Spring season. They hope the baby can join Bench Stretcher's growing number of child fans. Given the large number of team members and former members adding babies to the ranks, the team does not discard the possibility of lining up a kid's football/futsal team in the coming years.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
