The Glocks are currently a genre-less trio (really a duo but the two members insist on including their actual glock handgun as the third member) who hail from the DFW, Texas area.

The members of the band are two very interesting and unique individuals, starting with April Shay Valle (no one knows how the fuck you say her last name) on vocals, bass guitar, and some percussion. Her soulful voice resonates throughout many of the bands nonexistent tracks, adding a fabulous nuance that few bands possess. Her bass work is unparalleled in the music industry today, she floats in and out of riffs effortlessly while keeping the band in rhythm.

The other human member of the band, Dakota Ray Dumas (probably pronounced dumbass) also adds vocals, is on lead guitar, and adds percussions as well. Dakota does a great job at being the focal point of The Glocks, not only with his harmonious vocals, but with his stellar string work on the guitar. When combined with Valle’s soulful tune, these two create a sound that your ears unexplainably die to hear.

The band started in July of 2017, when Dumas and Valle were on their way back from a roadtrip to Austin, a town known for having music bursting out of the seams. They decided they wanted to start a band, after both finding out the other could sing somewhat well, and they decided on the name based on an inside joke they had between them.

It’s an absolute blast hanging out with these two young people, they’re funny, weird, and very interesting. If you hang out with them long enough you’ll most likely hear some of their favorite sayings, which include “get swung on” “you fuckn soundcloud rapper” “don’t make me get my motha fuckn glock” and “bro look at my pants *while making the ok symbol on their leg so they can swing on the person*”. Guaranteed to have a good time around this group of people.

Both members collaborate when it comes to the writing and production of their music, as each member contributes valuable and important ideas to the table. Although it must be said that Dakota is really the engine behind this machine, April does add the darker side of the lyrics and ominous sounds you might hear on their again, nonexistent, tracks.

This truly is a band on the rise, somehow managing to open up for acts like LANY and Foster The People without having one single released yet. We hope they can give us at least one song by the end of 2018, but we won’t be holding our breath.

Style rating: 9/10
Lyrics: 10/10
Production: 9/10 (unless april is in charge then 8/10)
Edginess: 12/10
Overall band rating: 7.7/1t0

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
