At the end of the Athens Gaming Festival, which took place at Arena Net from 3 to 5 April 2018, the well-known Guild Wars 2 gamer with the name "Pagio" (Panagiotis Giolandis) made the difference. The tournament lasted two days and by completing 64 hours of continuous gaming, the "Pagio" managed with a unique technique to overcome all difficulties and their opponents and managed to win the first place and therefore the first prize among 143 contestants.

His talent and experience have been seen from the start as he has already been in the top five in four hours of play. Despite the problems encountered as a sudden fainting put him outside for two hours, he managed to revert and overtake other contestants consistently fighting with Gamer "Diamon Devova" (aka Konstantinos Syrigos) and the last epic battle lasted 4 hours, to make a big win using only 3 of his basic skills. Battle watched live by the remaining 141 gamers who broke into applause at the end of the marathon.

Tired but winner, in the end, Pagio took the first prize of € 1,000, several other donations from the festival sponsors, and a sponsorship from Arena Net for the next two years as he is called upon to continue the battles and to test beta releases of the game within the elite of a worldwide group of 10 people. He dedicated his victory to a woman who, as he said, helped him a lot and supported him for the last two years and to whom he owes too much.

"Pagio" is not unknown in Greek gaming community as it had represented Greece in the festival of NCSoft in Chicago, USA from the Lineage 2 Greek community in 2006, and the festival of Blizzard Entertainment in London in 2012 by the World of Warcraft Greek community.

His abilities, known for his speed and patience, are famous for his tactics and his ability to defeat the opponent. Therefore not so surprising victory of the experienced gamer since it is known successes from 2004 until now, he has participated, with a small abstinence break for three years (2013 to 2016) where there was a no contest participation for family reasons.

Many companies and teams have been interested in him, but as he said he prefers to fight alone. Let's not forget the bad experience he had as a member of the well-known Split Infinity team where in the 2005 Counterstrike tournament he broke off and withdrew from the contest due to intense disagreement with the team members.

Congratulations, we expect more than the 37-year-old experienced "Pagio" and we wish him good luck on whatever road he gets.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
