The swedish Hacker Leon Hopp was recently arrested and sentenced to 40 years in prison for hacking into the database of the Russian Government. After bypassing its various security algorithms Hopp posted his findings in a barely known forum called “Bitreg”. The leaked documents were quickly removed by the sites owner Kevin Aldenburg after being contacted by Russian Agents. The documents contained both plans for mining minerals from the Asteroid “1992 QN”, as well as Russia’s plan on keeping other countries, especially America, away from the resources with possibly military ways. The Asteroid is expected to bypass Earth in 2024. The Russian space agency Roscosmos is tasked with sending out a mining drone to retrieve various Minerals such as Lanthan-17, Lutetium-36 and even Dysprosium-2, a highly radioactive metal which has not been found naturally before. Russia’s willingness on using military ways to secure these rare minerals for themselves will be the next big topic of discussion around the world, since Russia’s behaviour clearly contradicts many aspects of the international space law and the Outer Space Treaty.
Additionally, both Nasa and SpaceX have supposedly suffered from hacker attacks of unknown origin. In an interview, Elon Musk, CEO and CTO of SpaceX, explained that “it is not known where the hacker attacks come from, though their intention is very clear. Someone definitely wants to stop our technological progress in terms of space activity, which is rather bizarre.”. Neither NASA, nor Roscosmos and both the American and Russian Government have made a statement about this issue yet and are expected to give an explanation on this situation within the next few months.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
