TULSA- Police say on Febuary 3, 2019 at
approximately 1:47am a 30yo mother of Tulsa, OK was making her way across the pedestrian crosswalk on North Peoria headed towards Braums, when she was violently struck by a vehicle. The woman suffered serious injuries, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, which is helping with the investigation into the crash.
The driver was identified as a 24yo male resident to Skiatook, OK. The vehicle was said to be travelling South when it hit the pedestrian in the crosswalk. It's reported the driver failed to stop at the traffic light and was said to be traveling at an accelerated speed. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving drunk and it was later reported that his blood alcohol levels were allegedly four times the legal limit.
A close friend to the young mother was on the scene and made an emotional statement, saying that her friend had just recently relocated to Tulsa with her 10yo daughter. How she and many others would agree that she is a perfect example of what a young, strong, loving and forgiving person is and what an amazing mother she is. She said the young mother moved to Tulsa with dreams and determination to build a better future for herself and her daughter. She then explained that the reason they were headed to pick up ice cream was to celebeate a recent job offer for her friend that marked the beginning of a fresh start.
The local M.A.D.D. (Mother's Against Drunk Driving) chapter has taken a strong interest in this incident. They would like to announce that they will be holding a candlelit prayer circle for the young mother fighting for her life on Sunday Feb. 3, 2019 at 8pm at the scene of the accident on Brookside. They have also set up a fundraiser to assist the young mother and her child.
The Cherokee Nation publicly announced earlier today that they will match dollar for dollar all moneys raised by M.A.D.D. for the young Cherokee tribal member and her child. They are in full support of the M.A.D.D. organization and would like to express deep gratitude to them for all their efforts in this case.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
