Dallas County officials searching for man suspected of stealing security cameras

The Dallas County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help identifying a man suspected of stealing security cameras from a Sunnyvale residence.
The man took three security cameras valued at about $300 from a house in the 200 block of Sunview Street, near North Belt Line Road, sometime between April 3 and 6, department spokesman Raul Reyna said.
He also attempted to take a pool filter from the property, but left it behind on the driveway and fled in a white minivan. No property was missing from inside the house, Reyna said.
The suspect, a white man, can be seen in security camera footage using a screwdriver to remove the cameras and carrying the pool filter. He is wearing a red short sleeve shirt, white shoes and black or dark shorts.
The man could also be connected to similar security camera thefts in Mesquite, Reyna said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's department at 214-749-8641 and ask for Detective E. Murray with criminal investigations. Man has been identified via Facebook from the company's face recognition

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation.
