St. Louis's music scene has a new face. 19 year old rapper Marlo, born and raised on the north side in the "JVL". Growing up around drugs and money he quickly found himself getting sucked into the world around him. Trying not to fall too deep into the streets he Started seeking a different route. Around the age of 13 his mother decided to move his family to California, "shit it was bright" he says when we asked him about his first thoughts when he arrived. His family could almost never find a stable place to live as they moved from Bellflower, to Long Beach, Watts, and then Compton, where he had been living for the past couple years. He easily became adjusted to the west coast lifestyle, skateboarding, smoking weed, and getting money in his free time. Everything was fine until him and his mother began to have issues and he would get kicked out of the house. He began moving back and forth between Missouri and California. At the age of 17 he started rapping but says he didn't take it seriously until a couple months before he dropped his first mixtape titled "failure is the mother of success" on SoundCloud link below: https://soundcloud.com/nfg_marlo/sets/marlo-failure-is-the-mother-of-success
He says that it didn't make a lot of noise but it gave him the motivation to keep going. Being inspired from artists such as RJ, Rich the Kid, Playboi Carti, Kanye West, and Jay Z he wants to be the best he is now on the verge of establishing his own music label "Lifted&Gifted Association" and is currently working on a 5 song EP before his album entitled "Let Em Hate". When asked why he chose this title he simply said, "when you make it happen everybody starts coming back around and when they see they ain't part of yo campaign they start hating I ain't worried about it though, let em hate". His main goal is to be the best and put his city back on the map by any means. Stay on the look out for this up and coming artist with his hunger for success he is soon to be at the top.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
