Woman Arrested for Kidnapping

Chelsey Lauer of Blue Springs, Missouri, was arrested on Friday for kidnapping a woman.

The young woman says she met Mrs. Lauer at Costco. The woman claims Mrs. Lauer seemed totally normal aside from being extremely happy and chatty.

Mrs. Lauer invited the young woman over to bake pies with her. The woman politely declined. Mrs. Lauer was not having no for an answer and insisted the young woman come bake pies. Feeling uncomfortable, the woman walked away and continued shopping.

Once the young woman reached her car, she claims that she felt someone grab her from behind and cover her face with a rag. When she awoke, she found herself in Mrs. Lauers kitchen. Mrs. Lauer had pie ingredients sat out. "We are going to have so much fun! We can be best friends," Lauer told the young woman. The young woman was forced to bake pies for hours with Mrs. Lauer before the police were finally able to locate them. They busted in the door and arrested Lauer. Lauer offered the officers some pie, saying that she and her best friend had made plenty.

Mrs. Lauers husband, Mr. Lauer, was home during this hostage situation. The police questioned him asking why he did not help the young woman. Mr. Lauer responded by saying, "What? Then have me baking the pies?"

The young woman was not harmed.

The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
