Following a series of recent missteps and discouraging poll numbers Republican nominee Donald Trump drops out of the race, Mitch McConnell announced to CNN after getting a late formal notice from the candidate. According to party official, Mitch McConnell this notice took the form of letter and late night conference call from the candidate to party heads stating his intention to drop out — in this case, to chairman Reince Priebus, permanent chairman of the Republican convention Paul Ryan, the speaker of the House, and temporary chairman Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader.
The party’s Rule 9 states that the party has the power “to fill any and all vacancies which may occur by reason of death, declination, or otherwise.”
Tweets from top Republicans across the country echoes these sentiments. George Pataki, Republican Governor of New York, shared his thoughts in the same manner Donald Trump commonly has – he tweeted them.
“[Trump’s] campaign is a poisonous mix of bigotry and ignorance. Enough! He has stepped down.” It is now time to put this entertainment to rest and get on with the business of this election... our time has come but it is short.
The response from Clinton headquarters is expected later today in a public address.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
