South Dakota has just ruled that photographers must work for free. This decision came to be due to the fact that photography is not a service, and is not a product either. Although some photographers may beg to differ, the South Dakota Board has ruled otherwise.

"The idea that people can use their phones, cameras, or just about any other piece of technology to snap a photo of someone and then sell it to them is absurd. There is no skill, effort, labor, and most importantly, no real artistic value behind photography. It is something that should not be sold, as anyone can do it. It should be a free service by the people, for the people." -South Dakota Legislators

South Dakota is the first out of the fifty states to have banned the sale and service of photography in exchange for goods, or currency. The new laws will take effect starting on February 1st, 2017. All current photography businesses must close their stores, and immediately stop the sale of photography. However, South Dakota also has taken into consideration of state-to-state sales. South Dakota has made it illegal to purchase any form of art that is captured or created with a camera from any store, person, or business otherwise in-state. It is also illegal to sell photos across state lines. If photos were taken in South Dakota, they may not be sold anywhere else.

Just kidding. Lol.

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
