MASSENA - Strange and mysterious sightings of a ghost dog have been occurring for weeks at the Massena Chamber of Commerce office.
"One night i was working late and i heard a dog barking. I looked around and saw no dog. The barking was loud. it sounded like coming from inside the room," said executive director Nate Lashomb. "I looked for a dog with no luck.
An employee at the office was greeted one morning by a large white haired dog at her desk. "Where did you come from," i said to the dog. "how did you get in here? The secretary petted the dog. She went to go get the canine some water.
"He was out of breath like he had been running around alot. I was going to call the animal shelter. He was an adorable labadore golden retriever," she stated. "the dog followed me. While getting the water i could feel him at my legs wagging his tail. I looked down and there was no dog!"
The ghost dog at the chamber office appears to be a very friendly specter. "The public is invited to leave gifts of food and supplies for animals in memory of the mystery ghost dog to The Massena Humane Society," said director Lashomb. "Its a good cause for animals."

whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
