This week's saint amongst men goes out to a very outstanding, and charitable gentleman. After the devastating floods of Louisiana in August 2016, Jeffery Rooney from Cleveland St. Of Albany, La is the man that dedicated his time and money too helping residents get back to their dwellings. Mr. Rooney did so much for his community to get back and better than ever on his spare time. He helped rebuild and restructure homes day and night, even after coming home from his job with Turner industries. When asked about why he did it, while eating lunch with long time friend Alan Bigner, Jeff simply said it was out the goodness of his heart. He couldn't pass by his neighbors everyday without stopping and lending a helping hand, Jeff says he's blessed with a great paying job with Turner and he felt the need to sites the wealth. The floods that devastated much of South Louisiana left thousands homeless and looking for shelter, Rooney opened his heart and his home to them. He said his acts of giving comes from the leadership he sees at work on a daily basis, through supervision from Bryant McKinney, Kirby Nunez, and Richard Corkern,.....Jeff said those gentlemen taught him the standards of being all he can be. Some neighbors offered what they had for his services, but Mr Rooney turned them down and said just get me a case of beer and Alan a plate and that was payment enough.

    whale spotted in illinois river A humpback whale was spotted near Morris IL in the Illinois River today. The sighting comes just days after 2 Great White Sharks were seen frolicking in the same area. While not impossible, it does seem unlikely. It is thought that the whale may have followed the sharks as they sometimes do in the wild. The whale would of had to travel over 1250 miles to get to this location. The Marine Biologist Association will be in town for a full investigation. Until we have answers, we are asking folks to keep their pontoons and fishing boats docked.

    two great white sharks found swimming in mississippi river near saint louis, missouri. While it is not entirely impossible, it is incredibly uncommon for salt water dwelling creatures to stay for lengthy periods of time in fresh water. However, two Great White Sharks have managed to survive the trip and make their way up the Mississippi River somehow. Believed to have started as a mating couple, the two are assumed to have swam the 920 mile journey from the mouth of the Mississippi River that is connected to the Gulf Of Mexico. Officials in Saint Louis have contacted the Missouri Conservation Department and will likely have a team in the river soon to capture the two lost sharks.
